Police has issued a new update on the ice hockey player who tragically died in an accident after being slashed in the throat during a game.
The world was rocked last October when Nottingham Panthers star, Adam Johnson, suffered the fatal injury, whilst playing in a match against the Sheffield Steelers at the Utilita Arena.
Sporting fans all over and those close to Johnson flooded in to grieve the untimely loss of the 29-year-old - one of which being his fiancée, Ryan Wolfe, who reportedly ran onto the ice after the horrific injury to pray for him.
The horrific accident took place during the derby clash in Sheffield as over 8,000 fans watched from the sidelines, leading the game to be paused in the 35th minute, while medics rushed in to tend to Johnson behind the privacy of screens on the ice.

Johnson tried to skate to the sidelines for help after being slashed in the neck, but quickly collapsed soon after and was promptly rushed to the city's Northern General Hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died.
Following Johnson's untimely death, an unnamed man was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.
At the time, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police told The Yorkshire Post: "Detectives have today [Tuesday 14 November] arrested a man on suspicion of manslaughter. He remains in police custody at this time.

"On Saturday 28 October, Adam, aged 29, was seriously injured during a game between Nottingham Panthers and Sheffield Steelers and was sadly later pronounced deceased in hospital.
"A post-mortem examination confirmed he died as a result of a fatal neck injury.”
South Yorkshire Police have since provided an update on the tragic case with authorities confirming that the man arrested has been re-bailed until the middle of next month.
A spokeswoman said: "A man who is under investigation following the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson in Sheffield has been re-bailed.

"Adam, aged 29, was fatally injured during a game between the Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Panthers on 28 October last year.
"He was sadly later pronounced dead in hospital, and a post mortem confirmed he died as a result of a neck injury."
She continued: "A man was arrested on 14 November last year on suspicion of manslaughter and later bailed. He has been further re-bailed until Tuesday 14 May 2024.
"Our thoughts remain with Adam’s loved ones as our investigation continues."
